There’s nothing quite like welcoming new people into our team. We are excited to announce that this July, James Nell and his team of six accomplished accountants and administrators will be joining us at our Christchurch office.
Growing up on a family farm in Rakaia Gorge, it felt only natural for James to pursue a career in agricultural accounting. Like many of the team here at Leech & Partners, his first-hand experience working on a farm gives him an edge in understanding his clients’ challenges and opportunities. Over his nearly 20 years in the industry, James has also cultivated his expertise in commercial accounting and business advisory and he now works closely with several technology and property companies.
James Nell, Director. Leech & Partners
James is known for his pragmatic and positive approach, focusing on uplifting and empowering his clients to make smart financial and business choices. “My role is to give clients the confidence they need to make decisions, whether that be investments or day-to-day decisions,” James said. He strongly believes in taking the time to develop relationships with the businesses and families he works with. Seeing his clients’ businesses thrive and grow over a number of years is what success looks like for James.
Alongside James, we will be welcoming six experienced and dedicated accountants and administrators: Paula Burgess, Lizzy Duff, Dot Fahey, Megan Hamilton, Trudi Johnston, and Bridget Lumsden. “They are a talented group of people who are genuinely excited to join Leech & Partners, and to be back in the central city,” James said. They’ll initially focus on transitioning their clients to Leech & Partners and ensuring the move is a smooth process for all.
As a firm that believes in cultivating lasting relationships with our clients, it’s easy to see how James and his team will fit in so well here at Leech & Partners. “As soon as James approached us, we were excited by the opportunity for him to join us,” Nick Walls, Director, said. “Many of the Directors here have known and worked with James and his staff and we can see how closely aligned the values of his team and our team are. Bringing in James’ skills, knowledge, and fresh perspective is a great step for our firm.”
James is excited to take up his new position as a Director at Leech & Partners. He is looking forward to working alongside talented commercial and agriculture accountants and to be able to offer his clients access to more specialised skillsets, like the bookkeeping and software advisory experts in the LP Assist team. A keen proponent of modern accounting technology, James will lead the modernisation of many internal systems within Leech & Partners too, utilizing cloud-based software to streamline processes.
We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to James and his team as we come together for the next step in Leech & Partners’ journey.
